I'm PJ – a local from the Cairns greater region with nearly 2 decades of experience within the financial services sector. Since the pandemic I have on a no cost, or no obligation basis been helping in my free time correct / repair the credit files and scores of those who it can help the most. I offer my services at no cost, because I believe everyone deserves a chance to rebuild their financial life without paying a Dodgy credit repair company THOUSANDS of dollars despite the defaults most of the time being listed incorrectly and unfairly against people who done nothing wrong. My goal is to guide as many people as I'm capable of through the credit repair process with transparency and honesty.

Please feel free to reach out if you or a family member are in need of a hand and if I can't help due to my workload ill refer you to numerous free services that may be able to help.

My Process

From information collection to the final outcome, I handle every step personally. Including, Collection of information, case development, negotiations, and escalation to AFCA if unresolved

01

Collection of information

In this first step, I'll ask you to send me a copy of your Equifax credit report and to sign my Privacy Authorisation form.  Once i receive these I will request the credit provider, debt collector or utility provider to.

1. Prove that You owe them the debt and that it was issued legally.

2. That they have listed the default correctly by sending the correct notices to the correct addresses before they issued the debt.

3. Ask them to remove the default listing to prevent further action from you.

Lenders have 30 days from the date of this to respond and about 30% remove the default listing simply after this request. Which generally takes an addition 14 days to reflect on your credit file and score.

If the lender fails to respond the matter is immediately raised for review by AFCA

02

Case Development

In this step, I carefully review the information the lender gives me to identify what mistakes or breaches of law have been made by the credit provider, debt collector or utility company in the listing of the default against your credit file.

  • This normally takes me 7 days to review and email the lender a list of their mistakes, and the lender then has another 14 days to respond to any mistakes or breaches I have found.

  • In some cases it may take several weeks of back and forth emails and negotiations to get the lender to remove the default.

03

Negotiations

In many cases lenders indiscriminately  default credit files without notifying customers as a debt collection strategy because they know it may force you to call them to pay as it prevents you from being able to borrow more money. It sometimes is a strategy to speed up the default removal process to make a settlement offer of some or all of the debt in return for the default listing to be removed.

04

Escalation to AFCA

In the event some or all of the above steps don't work within 90 days, I will file a complaint to the relevant industry ombudsman or AFCA that the lender has listed the default incorrectly in breach of the privacy act or the National Consumer Credit Protection Act. This process can take up to 6 months to complete and is successful in getting defaults removed about 95% of the time.
